Realistic Linebacker Options for KC Chiefs

1. Zaven Collins (Tulsa)

The best linebacker option who has a shot at falling to the Chiefs at No. 31 is Zaven Collins of Tulsa. He’s from a smaller school, yes, but he can do just about everything on the football field.

A former high school quarterback, Collins made a name for himself on defense and excelled in rushing the passer and stopping the run, two big things the Chiefs could use. He had 54 tackles (7.5 for loss), four sacks, four interceptions (two of which he took to the house), two defended passes, and two forced fumbles. As I said, Collins is someone who can do it all.

The big thing to wonder here is if Collins will indeed fall to the end of the first round. He’s been mocked to the Chiefs before but he’s definitely become a more popular name as we inch closer to the draft and is no longer a secret. Other teams are going to want him and he might not be on the board by the time pick 31 rolls around.

Zaven Collins would make the Chiefs better on defense, so if he’s there when they’re on the clock, it’d be hard to pass up on him.

These five linebackers could all make a huge difference in Kansas City, but only Collins and Bolton are worthy of spending a first-round pick on. The other three are good players, but would not be worth the first-round tag they’d have slapped on them.

The Kansas City Chiefs definitely need to add a linebacker through the draft and any of these guys would excite the fan base and give the position some hope moving forward.
