Realistic Offensive Tackle Options for KC Chiefs

2. Liam Eichenberg (Notre Dame)

It’s never a good sign when your head coach pretty much says outright that you can’t play the position teams are wanting to draft you at. That’s definitely hurt Liam Eichenberg’s stock as far as the first round of the draft goes, but it does increase the chances of him being available late in the first round where the Chiefs are selecting.

Eichenberg has been connected to the Chiefs throughout mock draft season and it makes sense as to why. He played left tackle at Notre Dame and that’s the very position that Kansas City needs to upgrade at.

Because of how much these two have been linked to each other, many fans assume Eichenberg will be available late in the first round. If he is, the Chiefs might decide to bite the bullet and draft him.

1. Samuel Cosmi (Texas)

My favorite left tackle prospect in this draft — at least out of those that the Chiefs have a shot at drafting — is Samuel Cosmi, who played the position in 21 games at Texas. Cosmi is versatile too, having played both tackle positions for the Longhorns.

Cosmi has been mocked anywhere from the upper 20s of the first round to even falling into the middle of the second round. He has the experience at the position that the Chiefs are needing and if he’s there, Cosmi would be hard to pass on.

Some other names at offensive tackle that could be possible for the Chiefs to draft at pick 31 are Jackson Carman and Alex Leatherwood. Both are obviously talented players, but either would be a reach in the first round.
