Who from Kansas State football could hear their name called in the 2021 NFL Draft?

There should be three members from the Kansas State Wildcats who have a shot at getting drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. At the very least, these players should at least land on an NFL team, even if it’s as an undrafted free agent.

Kansas State Football – Who will get drafted?

Wyatt Hubert, EDGE

The biggest name to enter the 2021 NFL Draft for the Wildcats is Wyatt Hubert. Hailing from Topeka, Hubert made a name for himself in Manhattan, totaling 20 sacks through three years with the Wildcats, including 8.5 in 2020.

Hubert is the most talented member of K-State football entering the draft this year, but he’s still probably going to have to wait until Day 3 to hear his name called. He’s a talented player, but Hubert is definitely undersized for the position he plays.

If a team is willing to give Hubert a chance, however, they could have a sneaky good pass rusher joining their ranks. Hubert might not ever be a star in the NFL, but he has a chance to really make a splash and spend time on special teams and rotating in as a pass rusher.

Briley Moore, TE

The Wildcats were happy to welcome in Blue Springs native Briley Moore to their squad in 2020. K-State hasn’t been an organization known to house good tight ends, but Moore changed that, at least making a bigger impact at the position than the team has had in years past.

Moore finished his one year in Manhattan with 22 receptions for 338 yards and three touchdowns. Having a freshman filling in at quarterback while Skylar Thompson was injured didn’t help Moore put on a crazy show, but he definitely helped the offense out.

Unfortunately, Moore probably won’t be getting drafted but he definitely has a chance to hook on with a team after the draft wraps up. The Chiefs, who are two and a half hours away from Manhattan and just half an hour from Moore’s hometown of Blue Springs, are looking for depth at tight end, so maybe Moore lands in Kansas City.

Elijah Sullivan, LB

After six years with Kansas State football, Elijah Sullivan is finally departing and ready to take a crack at the NFL. Sullivan, like Moore, probably won’t be drafted, but he’s talented enough to land with a team over the summer. If there are preseason games in 2021, that’s when Sullivan will need to show what made him so popular at Kansas State.

Best-case scenario, Sullivan makes a team’s roster and spends the first year or two of his career on the practice squad. Worst-case scenario, unfortunately, is that he doesn’t make the cut and doesn’t go on to continue his football career.

Looking at these three Wildcats, only Wyatt Hubert is probably going to get drafted. K-State had its 26-year streak of having one of its players getting drafted snapped last year, so Hubert getting drafted would be the start of a brand new streak for Kansas State football.

Best of luck to these players as they enter the next stage of their careers.
