Ranking Kansas City Chiefs realistic draft targets

No. 1: Samuel Cosmi, OT (Texas)

The best name out there when it comes to realistic draft targets for the Chiefs is Samuel Cosmi out of Texas. Trevor Sikkema of The Draft Network had Cosmi landing with the Chiefs in his recent mock draft and this is a pick that makes a lot of sense.

While I’d love to see the Chiefs land Cosmi at No. 31, I’m not sure that’s possible. It fell this way in Sikkema’s mock because of the run on quarterbacks (four going in the first six picks) and offensive tackles not getting as much attention. Christian Darrisaw is one of the more prominent names at the position and he fell to No. 20 in Sikkema’s mock.

If that were to happen, then yes, Cosmi could be available late in the first round. He’d give Kansas City an experienced left tackle and honestly could probably play in Week 1 if the team didn’t end up signing an experienced veteran at the position.

Cosmi with the Chiefs would be great and while he is a realistic name for the team to land, I’m not sure he’ll be on the board by the end of the first round.
