Kansas City Chiefs: Ranking 5 most realistic targets at pick No. 31
Ranking Kansas City Chiefs realistic draft targets
No. 2: Christian Barmore, DL (Alabama)
Most mock drafts have had the KC Chiefs going with an offensive lineman of some kind, but Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports went in a different direction. He decided to pair the Chiefs with Alabama defensive lineman Christian Barmore, who is starting to get linked to Kansas City more often as we inch closer to the draft.
This would be a pick that Chiefs fans would be satisfied with, even if the defensive line isn’t an immediate need. Barmore is someone who can help stop the run and get after the quarterback. He tallied six sacks with the Crimson Tide in their National Championship-winning season and the Chiefs need someone who can both stop the run and hit the quarterback.
Barmore is very much a Chiefs type of draft pick, as they never go in the direction we expect them to, especially not in the first round. He might not be a starter from the get-go, but the Chiefs would definitely put him right to work and he’d be a staple in this defense moving forward.
As we start to see Barmore linked to the Chiefs more and more, this is becoming a real possibility as far as the first round goes.
