Kansas City Chiefs need to thrive in 2021: One more offensive weapon

There aren’t many offenses that are better in the NFL than that of the Chiefs. With Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill, this offense is incredibly difficult to stop, but the problem is that outside of Hill and Kelce, there isn’t a receiving threat that really scares anyone.

Sammy Watkins is gone and even when he was here, he was injured half of the time. Mecole Hardman hasn’t put it together yet. Demarcus Robinson drops every critical ball thrown his way. Byron Pringle is inexperienced. Blake Bell is nothing more than a third-string tight end on most other rosters.

The Chiefs need a third option for Mahomes to throw to whether it’s a wide receiver or a tight end. After missing out on JuJu Smith-Schuster in free agency, the Chiefs are likely going to draft a wide receiver with the hopes of that player being their WR2.

Having that player on the roster will do wonders for this offense. We saw in the Super Bowl that both Hill and Kelce can be guarded and when they are, the end result isn’t pretty. Having one more dependable option for Mahomes to throw to would ensure that the Chiefs offense can continue firing on all cylinders.
