Five contributors KC Chiefs can land if they move down
Marco Wilson, CB (Florida)
Marco Wilson is similar to the previously mentioned Collins in that he’s very athletic and has a lot of tools in development. A touch under six feet tall, Wilson has a lot of experience playing corner.
While some may view the Chiefs as not having a need at cornerback, that view is very short-sighted. Charvarius Ward is a free agent after this upcoming season and, if he comes back, so too will Bashaud Breeland.
Wilson is similar to the previous two in that, if you are going to gamble and bet on development, you do so with good athletes, players capable of doing more, in which you hone technique as opposed to trying to train a slow person to be ‘not as slow.’ Wilson may never be a star, but for a team with the need of depth immediately and the prospect of a developmental player as a rookie, Wilson would be a nice add in the middle rounds.
Can the Chiefs coaching staff develop Wilson from an athletic under-achiever to a contributing prospect with a future with the Chiefs? The Chiefs were on hand at the University of Florida pro day. The Chiefs have an interest in the next prospect, perhaps Wilson caught their eye as well.
