Kyle Isbel

The rest of these guys have played in the majors before, but that wasn’t the case for Kyle Isbel, who made his MLB debut on Thursday. What a debut it was!

Isbel worked his tail off in spring training to get to this point and it was really awesome to see him perform the way he did on Opening Day. Isbel went 3-for-5 totaling one run and plating two RBI in his first glimpse of Major League action.

It was really neat to see Isbel getting not just a hit in his first-ever at-bat, but an RBI as well. He’s batting .600 after his first MLB game and that’s not going to remain the case, of course, but what a debut for Isbel. The Royals should be really excited about what this kid can bring to the organization.
