The Kansas City Royals look to have a promising turnaround in 2021. Let’s check out some bold predictions for the boys in blue.

Spring Training 2021 has come to an end with the Kansas City Royals having the best record in the Cactus League at 16-8. Opening Day is just hours away now, so it’s time to make a few bold predictions for the upcoming season.

Kansas City Royals Bold Predictions

Adelberto Mondesi will have a breakout season

It’s hard to believe that Adalberto Mondesi will be starting his sixth season as a Royal. So far his career has been impacted by time on the disabled/injured list that’s caused him to have shortened seasons. Last season he struggled initially then finished the season as one of the most productive in MLB at the plate.

Mondesi was placed on the 10-Day Injured List with Nicky Lopez being recalled from the alternate site. The oblique injury that caused the delay for Mondesi shouldn’t be hard for him to recover from and hopefully, he’s back at it soon.

Look for Mondesi to heat up as soon as he recovers and for him to continue to produce. He had an extremely productive spring training and likely hits in the third spot full-time. He will thrive with the protection he will get from both Andrew Benintendi (will hit second) and cleanup hitter Carlos Santana.
