Are any of the 10 remaining best free agents a fit for the KC Chiefs in their upcoming season?
One full week of NFL free agency has passed and as we inch closer to the end of the second week, there are still a lot of talented names out there waiting to be signed. Do any of these players make sense for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021?
While Mitchell Schwartz and Eric Fisher are considered to be two of the best free agents remaining as of now, neither of them will be included in this post. The Chiefs released both of them for certain reasons and it wouldn’t make sense to bring them back after all of that. At least not right now.
Let’s dive in with the first free agent on the list.
Is Richard Sherman a fit for the KC Chiefs?
KC Kingdom’s own Kole Berrey wrote about how the Chiefs should sign Richard Sherman and I wouldn’t be opposed to it. The Chiefs are always looking for help in their secondary and while Sherman is older, he’d be a solid addition to their defense.
As mentioned, the main issue here is age, as Sherman has shown signs of slowing down. He played in just five games last year and will be 33 years old when the 2021 season kicks off in September. If the Chiefs could get Sherman on an affordable one-year deal, I’d be all for it, but otherwise, he’s probably not the best option for them to bring in.
Is he a fit, however? Yes. The Chiefs could definitely use Richard Sherman in 2021.
