The KC Chiefs have been fairly quiet in free agency, but there’s still plenty of talent available for them to sign.

Kansas City Chiefs fans have been disappointed by the lack of free-agent signings to this point but that doesn’t mean the team hasn’t made moves. They signed top offensive guard Joe Thuney to a five-year deal and also signed Kyle Long, who came out of retirement this offseason.

Aside from those two moves, the Chiefs have mostly focused on retaining talent already in-house, agreeing to deals with Darrel Williams, Ben Niemann, Nick Keizer, and Charvarius Ward, to name a few.

With a week of free agency in the books, there are a lot of talented players still waiting to find their home for the 2021 season. These five players could help fill a need in Kansas City in 2021.

Free agents who could help KC Chiefs – Bashaud Breeland

Oddly enough, Bashaud Breeland is in nearly an identical situation to what he was facing a year ago. The talented cornerback is coming off a one-year deal with the Chiefs and the buzz hasn’t been as big as he was hoping for. This has been what has happened to Breeland in now two consecutive offseasons and perhaps this will lead to him re-signing with the Chiefs once again.

Breeland isn’t perfect, but he knows the Chiefs’ defensive system and, for the most part, is a reliable corner. His penalties are frustrating and the Chiefs could definitely look to find a better option in the draft, but Breeland has played well in Kansas City and with him still available to sign, the Chiefs should be making a call to his agent to bring him in for a third season.
