The Draft

I won’t be going too in-depth on the draft here because this article goes hand in hand with my pre-free agency draft big board article. But here are the picks:

  • Round 1, Pick 31: Jaelan Phillips, EDGE Miami
  • Round 2, Pick 50: Liam Eichenberg, OT Notre Dame (Arizona and Chicago lack fourth-round picks and Miami lacks fifth and sixth-round picks, so picks 49, 50, and 52 are prime trade-up targets for the Chiefs using their second and their compensatory fourth-rounder. The Chiefs will use one of these three deals to trade up to secure their franchise LT)
  • Round 3, Pick 94: Quinn Meinerz, IOL Wisconsin-Whitewater
  • Round 4+: This is where the Chiefs will target safety and linebacker depth and round five in this roster prediction is where the Chiefs take one of my personal favorites from this draft wide receiver, Mike Strachan, from Charleston.

I’m cheating a bit by not predicting the whole draft but the purpose of this article was more of the free agency side. Follow along with the draft big board as supplemental material for the final couple roster spots.

So let’s take a look at what the depth chart will look like.
