Free agency hasn’t even really kicked off yet but, with right around 50 days until the draft, it’s time to start looking at some draft targets for the Kansas City Chiefs.

This offseason is shaping up to be an interesting one because of the lower salary cap. This could make the draft even more important in maybe the most difficult year ever to navigate the draft. With no combine, canceled seasons, and opt-outs, there are plenty of variables that will make drafting this offseason very difficult. Brett Veach has his hands full, but there should be plenty of good options at the Kansas City Chiefs‘ biggest areas of need.

Before we get into the round-by-round targets, let’s look at the Chiefs’ needs. In order of priority based off of pre-free agency needs, the Chiefs need to be looking for offensive line help (broad I know but they need tackles and interior guys), a pass rusher, and WR2 as their three big needs (despite what Veach may say in pressers). After those, the Chiefs also could use linebacker and defensive back depth, as well as, a TE2.

With the number of needs the Chiefs have right now, it’s really going to come down to free agency to determine where Kansas City could go in round one, but you can only go off what cards you got in your hand at the moment as that’s what we are going to do here. So, without further ado, let’s look at some targets for the first round.
