KC Chiefs Mock Draft 2.0

Round 5: Pick 174 – Daelin Hayes, EDGE (Notre Dame)

EDGE. Fighting Irish . Daelin Hayes. 174. player. 819.

The Chiefs add their second player from Notre Dame when they grab Daelin Hayes in the fifth round. KC did well in the fifth round last year, landing Mike Danna and actually seeing him step in and contribute this past season.

Hopefully, the same would happen for Hayes, who could come in and make plays from day one. Hayes had three sacks in 2020 for the Fighting Irish and also had six tackles for lost yardage. He’s definitely going to be more of a rotational player, but the Chiefs need pass-rushing help after the unit disappointed in 2020.

With Tanoh Kpassagnon and Alex Okafor hitting free agency and Frank Clark practicing a really good disappearing act throughout the season, the Chiefs need good pass-rushers. Hopefully, Hayes could be a reliable pass-rusher for this team moving forward.
