The KC Chiefs could use help along the defensive line. Who are some names to watch prior to free agency?

The defensive line is very important for teams if they want to generate pressure on the quarterback and be able to stop the run effectively. For the most part, the Kansas City Chiefs have done a decent job at building their d-line and it helped get them a Super Bowl title last year.

The only starter the Chiefs are losing from the d-line this offseason is Tanoh Kpassagnon, but Alex Okafor is a free agent too and those two tended to tag in for each other during games. Kpassagnon was never a true starter and even though Okafor wasn’t a starter, he was one of the Chiefs’ best weapons defensively.

So, who should the Chiefs look to bring in through free agency when it comes to the defensive line position? Let’s take a look at some names.

Defensive Linemen for KC Chiefs to Target – Tanoh Kpassagnon

Well, since I already mentioned Tanoh Kpassagnon, let’s discuss him first. The Villanova product was the Chiefs’ second-round pick in 2017 and despite a slow start to his career, turned things around and started to play much better.

His best season was in 2019 when he had four sacks and 29 tackles while appearing in all 16 regular-season games. He started 15 games this year — the most in his career — and played decently. Kpassagnon probably won’t get a huge amount of money on the open market and maybe he’s willing to take even less to stay with the organization that drafted him and was patient with his production.
