Most disappointing Kansas City Chiefs – No. 1: Sammy Watkins

The most disappointing member of the Chiefs in the 2020 season was none other than Sammy Watkins. The Chiefs gave Watkins a lot of money over the past three years and he repaid them by not doing much. Yes, he was great in the postseason, but injuries really prevented him from being dependable in the regular season.

Watkins finished this season with 37 receptions for 421 yards and two touchdowns. Those would be okay numbers if Watkins was a WR3/4, but he was the WR2 entering the season. He had just eight total touchdowns during his three seasons with the Chiefs and that’s definitely not how this team saw his tenure going.

Chiefs fans won’t look back at Watkins’ deal with anger simply because of the performances he had in the playoffs and the fact that he was a key part of the Super Bowl win, but when it comes down to it, Watkins really fleeced the Chiefs in the grand scheme of things.
