KC Chiefs Mock Draft 1.0

Round 6: Pick 212 – Thomas Graham Jr., CB (Oregon)

player. 820. . Cornerback. Ducks . Thomas Graham Jr.. 212

With their final pick in the draft, the Chiefs go with a cornerback in Thomas Graham Jr. out of Oregon. Ideally, the Chiefs select a cornerback sooner than the sixth round, but if it forces them to reach earlier on, then that’s not a great situation to be in.

Graham did not play in 2020, but the last we saw of him in 2019 gave us a lot to like. Graham is a good tackler — something that Chiefs defenders aren’t great at — and is an absolute ballhawk. He tallied eight interceptions in three years at Oregon and the Chiefs need someone who can take the football away.

The Chiefs need to address the cornerback position, especially considering that Bashaud Breeland is likely on his way out and Charvarius Ward did not play well in 2020. Rookie L’Jarius Sneed was tremendous, but he won’t be able to do it all, so it’s time to get him some help.

Graham could be a great addition to this secondary and like Sneed, he’d be a sneaky good pick on Day 3 that could really boost this secondary down the road.
