KC Chiefs add local linebacker in first round of 2021 NFL Mock Draft
KC Chiefs Mock Draft 1.0
Round 6: Pick 180 – Whop Philyor, WR (Indiana)
Did I mention earlier how badly the Chiefs need help at wide receiver? As of now, they could lose three wide receivers to free agency and while we all want Byron Pringle to re-sign, that still means Watkins and Robinson are likely on their way out.
If the Chiefs go with the cheap route, drafting wideouts is the way to go, and that’s why I went with Whop Philyor as their second to last pick in the draft. Philyor’s junior season in 2019 was better than his 2020 senior campaign, as he had 70 receptions for 1,002 yards and five touchdowns as a junior. He still was respectable in 2020, tallying 54 receptions for 495 yards and three trips to the end zone.
The Chiefs need playmakers and Philyor could give them that. Maybe he’s a WR4 at best, but having Hill, Hardman, hopefully Pringle, Surratt (their fourth-round pick in this mock), and Philyor gives them a very young and promising group of receivers for 2021 and beyond.
This would be a fun player joining a fun offense and who doesn’t want to see that?
