What’s Next for KC Chiefs at Cornerback

The Chiefs are set to have two of their top three corners hit free agency and optimistically, probably only one returns to KC at best.

The post-COVID market is tough to predict but one would think that Bashaud Breeland has priced himself out of Kansas City. Charvarius Ward is a free agent as well but a restricted one, meaning he is probably more likely to return than Breeland even though most Chiefs fans would probably prefer the opposite.

Again, I could be wrong here in an unusual market, but it’s looking like KC will be pretty thin at cornerback heading into next year. L’Jarius Sneed is definitely returning for at least three more years, however, and is more than ready to man the outside so that is at least one bright spot for the group.

What’s Next for KC Chiefs at Defensive End

The Chiefs struggled to generate pass rush this season and that was really put on full display in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs need help opposite of Frank Clark really bad. Coincidentally, basically all of the defensive ends who played opposite of Clark this season are heading into free agency.

This exponentially increases the need. Clark and Mike Danna are the only defensive ends set to return who have any real playing time this season. Tanoh Kpassagnon, Alex Okafor, and Taco Charlton are all free agents and the Chiefs likely will only retain one or two of them at best.

None of the above have been particularly impressive anyway so this is a position that needs to be addressed pretty high in the draft.

The KC Chiefs had a very good season and Chiefs fans are a lucky fan base, so just remember that in the midst of your frustrations.

The greatest quarterback in the world still plays in Kansas City and the Chiefs will be back but expect big changes this offseason. We will dig deeper into the team’s needs as we move throughout the offseason.

Isn’t it crazy with how bad that KC’s linebacker play has been all season and it may not even be a top-four need for Kansas City this offseason? It won’t be a Spring/Summer of celebration this year, but just remember we’ve been through worse so get ready for an interesting offseason.
