KC Chiefs vs Bucs in Super Bowl LV – What to Watch: Does Week 12 matter?

Chiefs Kingdom remains optimistic going into Sunday since the Chiefs have already beaten the Bucs this year back in Week 12. How much does that game even matter?

In my previous article ahead of the AFC Championship Game, I mentioned how the Chiefs and Bills matchup during the regular season didn’t matter. This won’t be the case this time as both teams fell to the strengths of the other.

Tampa Bay is the best team in the NFL when it comes to stopping the run, and it showed in Week 12. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have struggled to stop the run and the Bucs averaged 5.8 yards per carry that game. Although this has never been a downfall of the Chiefs, it is certainly going to be an advantage for the Chiefs to flip the script this week when it comes to the run game and not have a repeat performance.

The other issue was almost letting Brady lead a comeback with 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. This was mostly due to the Chiefs giving up deep pass plays which they have struggled with all season.

Just watch both games against the Raiders and you’ll see it has been a problem. Fortunately, the Chiefs know just the right guy for the job.
