What we learned about the KC Chiefs – Hardman’s redemption

After forcing the Bills to punt early in the game, Mecole Hardman fumbled the return attempt, setting the Bills up at 1st and Goal at the KC three-yard line. Buffalo scored a touchdown immediately and suddenly, the Chiefs were down 9-0 with Hardman getting a lot of flak.

What I loved about this game, other than the obvious, is that Andy Reid continued to give the ball to Hardman. He didn’t want Hardman beating himself up all night and included him in key plays to get his confidence back up. And guess what? Hardman delivered.

Hardman might have only had two receptions for four yards, but one of those two grabs went for a touchdown. Hardman also had a 50-yard run that set the Chiefs up for yet another touchdown and put them up 14-9.

Fans are tough on Hardman and while I understand that he can be frustrating at times, he proved on Sunday that he’s able to rebound and make plays even after he makes mistakes. Hopefully, we see this version of Hardman in the Super Bowl.
