KC Chiefs Star Performances – No. 8: Nick Allegretti

We mentioned Fenton being a nice sixth-round addition, but Nick Allegretti can one-up him, as he was a seventh-round pick in the same draft. Chiefs fans knew that Allegretti would be a project and he’s already shown signs of being a legitimate option along the offensive line.

Nate Taylor of The Athletic had a tweet that summed up Allegretti’s performance perfectly. The tweet was as of follows:

That’s what Allegretti did all night, he just flat out dominated the Bills defensive line. The Buccaneers pose a tougher challenge, but Allegretti has easily been one of the young stars of this team. Because he plays on the offensive line though, he doesn’t get the praise he deserves, so I’m giving him that praise now.

KC Chiefs Star Performances – No. 7: Mecole Hardman

After muffing a punt return in the first quarter that allowed the Bills to punch in the pigskin for six points, Mecole Hardman could have easily sulked on the sideline. He could have really let that muffed punt impact the rest of his day, but Andy Reid didn’t let that happen. He continued to get Hardman involved in the offense and get his confidence back up.

As a result, Hardman finished the night with 54 total yards and a touchdown. Yes, 50 of those yards were from one run, but that run got the Chiefs in Bills territory and they scored a touchdown not long after. Hardman also had the first touchdown grab of the game for KC and that was something that needed to happen after he fumbled. Props to Hardman for being able to put his mistake behind him and use it as motivation.
