KC Chiefs vs Browns What to Watch: Return of the duo?

The Chiefs offense had a running back duo of their own in Le’Veon Bell and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Unfortunately, Edwards-Helaire has been out since his injury in Week 15 against the Saints after leading the running backs in almost every category rushing and receiving.

His recovery is looking good as head coach Andy Reid has claimed the recovery is ahead of schedule. Edwards-Helaire is still being evaluated and there is nothing official about him returning to the field this Sunday. But what happens if he is out?

The Chiefs have already been without their star rookie, both due to injury and illness. If Edwards-Helaire can’t play, then Le’Veon Bell will be the primary back and Darrel Williams would then take the role as the secondary.

Reid and Eric Bieniemy will prioritize whichever back is having a better game as the fourth quarter nears, but neither of these two backs will be able to carry the offense. Look for them to compliment the passing attack more than effective rushing.

The Chiefs will also mix in jet sweeps and other rushing plays that utilize their receivers like Tyreek Hill and Mecole Hardman. The Chiefs rushing attack will have to fight for every yard.
