The KC Chiefs should make it a point to re-sign these four players in 2021.

The Kansas City Chiefs have cap issues but should be able to bring some players back with expiring contracts. When the offseason kicks off, the Chiefs are hoping to be coming off a second consecutive Super Bowl appearance (and victory) and will have holes to fill on their roster.

Beyond the big names and postseason contributors, the Chiefs will have their work cut out for them to fill out a roster capable of helping the Chiefs get back to the postseason in the 2021 season and hopefully look for a three-peat.

With that in mind, there are a few players, role players perhaps, who the Chiefs should look to bring back for next season. The most important aspect of the player’s game is versatility, contributing in multiple areas, even if only in a reserve role. These guys aren’t stars, but they’re capable of providing the roster depth the team will need as they go forward with Patrick Mahomes and company.

Pending Free Agents for KC Chiefs to Re-sign: Daniel Sorensen (Safety)

One has to wonder what it would take to re-sign Daniel Sorensen, but he has certainly proved his value and worth over the past couple of seasons. With question marks still around Juan Thornhill, the Chiefs could most definitely use Sorensen’s versatility on defense as well as his work on special teams.

Sorensen even can contribute as a linebacker in long down passing situations, meaning the Chiefs defense, and roster needs him to come back. It’s hard to imagine a scenario where Sorensen doesn’t want to rejoin the Chiefs, but he’s someone who they should make a strong case to this offseason.

As long as Sorensen is left covering tight ends one-on-one, the Chiefs need to get bring back for 2021.
