Chiefs News: Eric Bieniemy hot name on head coaching market
Chiefs news involves Eric Bieniemy getting interviewed by several NFL teams.
Six NFL teams are looking for a new head coach this offseason and as of now, Eric Bieniemy of the Kansas City Chiefs has reported talked to five out of six of those teams. The only team who hasn’t reached out as of now is the Texans, but Bieniemy has spoken to the other five.
It’s not shocking that Bieniemy is a hot name on the head coaching market. He should have been hired by a team last year but for whatever reason, was not hired by any of the head coach-needy teams. This year should be a different result for Bieniemy, but where will he end up?
The Jaguars and Chargers jobs are enticing due to having a good quarterback either in-house or joining the team and also have draft capital, funds, and/or talent on the roster. These should be the two jobs that Bieniemy is eyeing, assuming they’re both interested in bringing him in.

Just because Houston hasn’t requested an interview with Bieniemy yet, doesn’t mean they won’t talk to him. It’d be foolish for the Texans to pass up on potentially gifting Deshaun Watson an offensive-minded head coach like Bieniemy. Just imagine what kind of damage those two could do in Houston.
Bieniemy should have his pick of where he wants to go next season and after not landing a job last year, he deserves the chance to lead a team. Chiefs fans would obviously prefer for him to not take the Chargers’ job due to them being in the same division, but it’d make a ton of sense for Bieniemy to be interested in that position. LA has what looks to be a promising young quarterback in Justin Herbert and they’re stacked with talent throughout the roster.
It’ll be fun to see this play out for Bieniemy and hopefully, he can land with a team and have a lengthy coaching career there.
