Good things for Kansas City Chiefs in 2020 – Patrick Mahomes’ contract

Even though he struggled in the Super Bowl, the Chiefs don’t get to that point or come back and win the game without him. As a result, he was crowned Super Bowl MVP, which was yet another accolade for the young gunslinger out of Texas Tech.

The Chiefs rewarded Mahomes for his efforts with a 10-year contract worth over $500 million, tying him to Kansas City until he’s 35 years old. As big of a contract as that is and for how much money it’s worth, you wouldn’t find many (if any) people complaining about it after the quarterback hell this fan base had been through. Having a homegrown guy was an awesome feeling and knowing he’ll be with this organization for the next decade is incredible.

Good things for Kansas City Chiefs in 2020 – Chris Jones’ contract

Obviously, the quarterback is priority No. 1, but Chiefs fans were pretty ecstatic when the team also managed to extend defensive lineman Chris Jones. The Chiefs and Jones agreed to a four-year extension worth $80 million, tying him to KC through his age 29 season. He could be set up to land another big contract by the time this deal is up.

It really didn’t seem possible that the Chiefs would be able to extend both of these guys, but they got it done. Mahomes and Jones are both here to stay and Chiefs Kingdom couldn’t be happier.
