Kansas City Chiefs vs Atlanta Falcons – What to Watch: Giving up the Lead

Both the Chiefs and Falcons are known for giving up large leads and both teams proved it last week. The only difference is that the Chiefs won their game while Atlanta struggles to win after giving away their lead. We saw it last week against the Buccaneers where the Falcons had a 17-0 lead at the half before losing 31-27.

Atlanta has a history with this, as Tom Brady also came back against the Falcons in Super Bowl LI as a Patriot. The Falcons were up 28-3 at halftime and proceeded to let the Patriots come back and win the game, so don’t worry Chiefs fans. If the Falcons do get the lead, Mahomes will come back like he always does.

On the flip side, the Falcons could come back as well. The Chiefs have had multiple games where they had a large lead and almost lost. This happened just last week against the Saints where they ended up winning by just a field goal. That is the difference that will make the Chiefs and break Atlanta. The Chiefs may give up the margin, but not the game.
