Presents KC Chiefs fans hope to see under tree – Patrick Mahomes winning MVP

Patrick Mahomes took the league by storm in 2018 when he was given the keys to the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense after Alex Smith was traded to Washington. As a result of Mahomes’ dominant season, he was awarded the league MVP award and was the first Chief ever to do so.

In 2019, Mahomes was still very good, but he missed two starts due to injury and, well – simply put – Lamar Jackson was the more intriguing player that year, which is why he won MVP. It’s no secret that the NFL likes to crown a different MVP each season if possible, so Mahomes winning it last year probably wasn’t a likely scenario even if he hadn’t missed those starts.

This year, however, Mahomes is in a prime position to win his second MVP award. It’s between him and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the race is tighter than Chiefs fans will admit, but Mahomes does appear to have the edge for the time being.

Chiefs fans would be elated to see a second MVP title for Mahomes under the tree when they arose on Christmas morning because it’d mean that for the second time in three years, their quarterback was the best player in the entire league.
