Wyatt Davis would be a perfect fit for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021.

Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports posted his mock recent mock draft and had the Kansas City Chiefs selecting Ohio State offensive lineman Wyatt Davis with the No. 32 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. This would be a smart pick for the Chiefs, as their offensive line has had some issues this year.

To be fair, the o-line was put in a tough position before the season even began, as both Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Lucas Niang opted out of the 2020 season. LDT was most definitely going to be the starter at right guard where he’s been the past few years.

Niang might have won the left guard job but there’s also a chance KC would have used him in a swing role. Eventually, he probably would have made his way over to right tackle, as Mitchell Schwartz exited with an injury in Week 6 and right tackle was Niang’s position during his TCU years.

The Kansas City Chiefs need to fixate on their offensive line this offseason.

Injuries have been the biggest issue for sure, but the Chiefs need to address the o-line anyway. Both guard positions could use reliable backups and the team is also in need of a center moving forward as well. Trapasso recognized that the Chiefs could use more options along the offensive line and had the Chiefs go in that direction with the selection of Wyatt Davis out of Ohio State.

"The Chiefs may be in need of interior line help in 2021, so they gladly stop Davis’ fall here."

Trapasso isn’t wrong with this assessment. The Chiefs do need interior line help even if Duvernay-Tardif does return in 2021. They’ve struggled to find consistency at left guard for years now and Davis could be someone that fills that hole.

Davis would give the Chiefs a 6’4″, 304-pound option at one of their two guard positions and that’d be quite the force upfront. He’s been a member of some tremendous Ohio State teams that have helped the Buckeyes run wild offensively, so the hope is he could bring that productivity to Kansas City and help out with their run game.

What do you think, Chiefs Kingdom? Is Wyatt Davis a player you’d be okay with the Chiefs selecting in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft or would you rather they look into addressing another position?
