KC Chiefs: What we learned about the AFC West after Week 15
What did we learn about the Los Angeles Chargers?
The Chargers might not be going anywhere this season, but they have a bright future so long as Justin Herbert plays like this in the coming years. He’s talented and proved that once again on Thursday, throwing for 314 yards and two touchdowns against the Raiders while adding another 14 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
After their 30-27 overtime victory against the Raiders, Los Angeles sits at 5-9 on the year and that doesn’t look nearly as bad as 4-10. They beat a Raiders team who was still hanging around in the playoff picture and if just a few things had gone differently this season, the Chargers could have been a playoff contender themselves.
What we learned about the Bolts is that the stronger they look to close out the season, the more likely it is that Anthony Lynn remains their head coach. Obviously, Chiefs Kingdom wants that to happen, as Lynn has continuously blown games as the Chargers’ head coach, but if LA is smart, they’ll move on from him. If they’re really smart, they’ll pry Eric Bieniemy away from Kansas City and keep him in the division against his old team. We’ll find out if the Chargers are smart or not this offseason.
Next up: The Chargers host the Broncos in the late window of games on Sunday. The last time these two squared off, Denver came back and won in the final seconds to hand LA another disappointing loss. Will we see something similar happen this week?
