Kansas City Chiefs: Four things to watch vs Saints in Week 15
What to watch in Kansas City Chiefs vs New Orleans Saints – Chiefs’ Rushing Woes
The rush attack continues to be a topic as the Chiefs face another struggle. The Chiefs are still just the middle of the pack at No. 16 when it comes to running the ball. Other than Tyreek Hill’s big run for a touchdown, the rushing attack remained somewhat silent in Miami.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire contributed to the pass but was met by a brick wall in Miami averaging only two yards per carry. There is a ray of hope, however, as the Saints are coming off a game where they were run over on defense, giving up over 200 yards and two touchdowns. If Edwards-Helaire and/or Le’Veon Bell can have a breakout game, the Saints don’t have the explosiveness to keep up, not with a beat-up Drew Brees under center.
It makes it worse when the Chiefs are also one of the worst rushing defenses as well. They still rank just No. 26 against the run. With the Saints having Brees back, this doesn’t look good for the boys in red. Kamara is still a great dual-threat running back who could pose a threat in the run and Hill will also be used in the run game as well now that he isn’t starting at quarterback.
Even with these woes, the passing attack and defense have made up for it. As long as the Chiefs can keep the lead, the Saints won’t be able to run the ball as often as they’d please and the Chiefs won’t need a run game as much.
This game is going to be a dogfight and it could definitely go down as an instant classic!
