The Kansas City Chiefs head to New Orleans to face the Saints in Week 15.

The 12-1 Kansas City Chiefs have a tough Week 15 matchup against the 10-3 New Orleans Saints. The Chiefs look to continue their winning streak after their 33-27 win against the Miami Dolphins, a game filled with mistakes from KC including an uncharacteristic three interceptions from Patrick Mahomes. As usual, the Chiefs rose above and came away with the win.

The Saints are coming off an upsetting 21-24 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. Like the Chiefs, New Orleans had their own issues. Saints’ kicker Wil Lutz missed two field goals and quarterback Taysom Hill threw a costly interception. Unlike the Chiefs, the Saints were not able to overcome their miscues.

Can the Chiefs keep their No. 1 seed status? Here are four things the Chiefs and you need to watch in Week 15 against the Saints.

What to watch in Kansas City Chiefs vs New Orleans Saints – Return of Drew Brees

Drew Brees is returning to the field this Sunday, which does not bode well for the Chiefs’ defense.  Brees will take care of the football and make the Chiefs defense earn their breaks. The Saints’ gameplay is now less predictable by just looking at recent stats and trends, but even though they have their Super Bowl quarterback, he isn’t the same as he was in 2010.

Before his injury this year, Brees was not playing at the highest level. He averaged two touchdowns a game and less than 250 yards per game. I can’t imagine Brees coming out and throwing for 300 yards with four touchdowns on his first game back, especially if his favorite target Michael Thomas is out with an ankle injury.

The return of Brees also marks the return of Taysom Hill as an ‘I can play anything’, player. We will likely see Hill lineup in multiple positions on Sunday and this will open up the playbook more for the Saints. Hill returning to this utility role will also help get the pressure of playmakers like Alvin Kamara. If the Chiefs can’t keep these plays in check, it will be a long game for the KC defense.
