These six Kansas City Chiefs are starting to play well at the perfect time.

When the Kansas City Chiefs finished their regular season on such a strong note and then went on to win Super Bowl LIV, it was because nearly the entire team got hot at the perfect time. We’re starting to see players heat up and find their groove at the perfect time and if the rest of the team can follow suit, another Lombardi Trophy should be heading to downtown Kansas City for another Super Bowl parade.

Let’s take a look at six Chiefs who are hitting their stride at the very best time for the defending Super Bowl champions.

Kansas City Chiefs who are heating up – No. 6: Tershawn Wharton

What a wonderful story Tershawn Wharton has been for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Missouri S&T defensive end went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft, signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent, and the rest is history. So far, Wharton has been tremendous for the Chiefs and he’s doing so as an undrafted rookie from a small school.

Wharton is coming off his best game yet actually, notching two total tackles (one for loss), one sack, and one quarterback hit on 57% of the defensive snaps he was present for. The Chiefs are going to continue to lean on Wharton in their final three regular-season games as well as in the playoffs and if he proves himself, there should be a bigger role waiting for him in 2021 and beyond.

Kansas City Chiefs who are heating up – No. 5: L’Jarius Sneed

Speaking of sensational Chiefs rookies, L’Jarius Sneed has been the best of the best (yes, even better than Clyde Edwards-Helaire). He was off to a roaring start as a pro, looking incredible in Week 1 against the Texans despite being thrown into the deep end of the pool on short notice.

Sneed, unfortunately, was forced to miss time due to injury, but he returned to action in Week 11 and has been playing at a high level ever since. The tweet above, courtesy of Pro Football Focus College, is proof of how dominant Sneed has been this season, and him returning to action and playing so well is exactly the kind of boost the Chiefs secondary needs if this team wants to run it back.
