Situations to Monitor

Usually, I highlight a few names to either star or sit outside of my main two above, but this week there are a lot of question marks around some star players that make that a little harder to do. Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Austin Ekeler are all dealing with injuries that could change how other players are viewed.

First, let’s look at Allen and Williams. If Allen is active, he is in your lineup, but that is not true for Williams. His health may not matter a whole bunch as long as Allen is healthy, but if Allen were to miss Thursday because of his hamstring and Williams is active, he is someone that you could pick up and start due to the sheer volume that would be coming his way, not to mention the great matchup.

Ekeler is also a guy that makes this game interesting. If Ekeler were to miss, Kalen Ballage would be an instant plug and play player you could pick up off of many waiver wires. He could be the type of player that could save you if you are dealing with injuries to guys like Julio Jones, Myles Gaskin, and Christian McCaffrey.

Pay attention to the injury reports prior to kickoff Thursday, or go ahead and add guys like Williams or Ballage to get ahead of your opponents if those guys are ruled out.
