Start of the Week: Nelson Agholor, WR, Las Vegas Raiders

This is a tough pill to swallow. Relying on Nelson Agholor for anything has been a recipe for disaster in the past, and trotting him out during the playoffs of all week is something most fantasy managers aren’t going to be willing to do. The volume for Agholor has been there, and he has actually turned in quite a few games that would be potentially week winning for you in your fantasy lineup.

The matchup is also something you have to take into account this week. While the Chargers aren’t the absolute worst at limiting the wide receiver position, they are right in the middle of the pack and allow close to 18 points per game to the position. Considering that the team may also be without Joey Bosa this week, you could have a situation where Derek Carr has enough time to get the ball to his weapons.

Agholor has also seen a steady rise in his volume as the season has worn on. Before the Raiders’ Week 6 bye, Agholor had a total of 11 targets COMBINED. Since then, he has topped nine targets in four separate games and is averaging just around that mark over the last four games.

He has slowly found a role in this offense and Carr is turning to him more than anyone not named Darren Waller in the passing game. That all adds together and should equal Agholor having a nice game in Week 15.
