3. Consistency is Key

Kelce is cruising to his fifth straight first-team All-Pro award. That is the absolute definition of consistency. And who has been more consistent offensively on the field this season for the KC Chiefs and in the eyes of the league? It seems as though Mahomes can always count on Kelce, especially the bigger the play.

There are moments when the Chiefs’ offense grows a little stagnant, and Kelce consistently becomes the spark that they need to get moving again. It’s amazing just how many crucial third-down situations there are and how he knows how to keep the chains moving. Whether he’s making a sliding catch or throwing a defender around, he always makes it happen.

One reason that Kelce is so reliable is that he rarely drops a pass that’s on target. Even though he has very few drops, it’s a good sign to see how much each one bothers him. It’s easy to see that that’s not a part of his game that he takes lightly. Thankfully, he doesn’t allow it to get into his head and he’s always ready to be called on for the next crucial catch.

Over the last decade, players like Gronkowski or Kittle may have looked like a more dominant player at the position. But no one has been as reliable and consistent as Kelce has. And he is just continuing that same desirable trait deep into this season. His ability to be Mr. Consistent bodes well for his selection for the OPOY award.
