The Kansas City Chiefs will head to Miami to face the Dolphins in Week 14.

The 11-1 Kansas City Chiefs will go against the 8-4 Dolphins as they try to take the No. 1 seed from Pittsburgh. The Chiefs are coming off a 22-16 win at home against the Broncos and it was a rough game as KC struggled to score or even stop the run. In the end, Patrick Mahomes and company got the job done and sealed their playoff berth.

Miami has finally found a good rhythm after suffering losing seasons since 2016, when they went 10-6 and lost in the Wildcard game to the Steelers. Rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has led the Dolphins to a winning record and they have won their past two games by double digits, including a win against the Bengals where Tua had a big game.

The Chiefs return to Hard Rock Stadium where they won Super Bowl LIV against the 49ers and they are looking to get their second win in this stadium in 2020. Let’s take a look at a few things they and you should watch out for against the Dolphins.

Red Zone Offense

It is safe to say that the Chiefs struggled to punch the ball into the end zone, as the Chiefs were 0-for-4 in the red zone against the Broncos last week. The play calling in the red zone seemed questionable, especially when calling for Tyreek Hill to run with the ball across the field instead of attempting to punch it in with Le’Veon Bell. This led to Harrison Butker kicking five field goals to win the game. We may see a different style of red zone offense in week 14.

Unfortunately, the Chiefs have been struggling all year in the red zone, ranking 23rd in the NFL for touchdowns scored in the red zone. So far this year, when the Chiefs are in the red zone, they score touchdowns only 57.45% of the time.

Compare this to 60% in 2019 and 73.08% in 2018 for the Chiefs’ offense under Mahomes. The last three games specifically have been horrific at 33.33%, including the 0% from last week against the Broncos. This could be the result of more teams studying the Chiefs and how to beat them.

In the league today, you must score often and score big. The past four games have all been one-possession victories for the Chiefs. The offense needs to get back to being able to score from all distances if they want to win back-to-back Super Bowls.
