What did we learn about the KC Chiefs?

Last, but not least, we come to the defending champion Chiefs, who won a tightly contested game over the Broncos, 22-16. It was a pretty ugly victory for the Chiefs, but they won the game and did so despite a lot of bad breaks.

Tyreek Hill had what should have been two touchdowns taken away and if the Chiefs get in the end zone on just one of those first-half red zone appearances, this game is a blowout in favor of KC. Winning the game the way they did, however, shows this team that they can win in a variety of ways though and that’ll be good for them to know when the playoffs startup.

What worries me about the Chiefs is that they can’t stop the run, their lack of fire in the red zone, and the fact that they can’t put away opponents. They’ve won each of their last four games by six or fewer points and if the Chiefs don’t put away an opponent in the playoffs, it will come back to bite them (see basically any Chiefs playoff loss ever).

What we learned about the Chiefs is that they continue to win despite not necessarily looking like the same team every time. This team still has a lot to work on, but it’s hard to argue against them being a Super Bowl contender.

Next up: The Chiefs head to Miami where they won Super Bowl LIV. The stakes aren’t as high this time, but the Dolphins will give the Chiefs everything they’ve got. This game kicks off at noon Arrowhead time.
