Butker is back on track

Harrison Butker was the MVP of this game, as he was responsible for 16 of the Chiefs’ 22 points. With the Chiefs failing to get the ball into the end zone on five red zone trips, Butker was forced into action and knocked through all five field goals that he was asked to put through the uprights.

Butker also connected on the lone point-after attempt. This is something that Butker has struggled with this season, but it appears he might have turned the corner since returning from the bye week, as he’s made all nine extra points asked of him since the Chiefs came off their Week 10 bye.

Butker has always been a solid kicker, but I won’t lie — The missed extra points were a concern for me. Fortunately, it looks like Butker has figured it out, and hopefully, this isn’t something that re-emerges in a key moment down the stretch — or ever.

Chiefs are headed to the playoffs!

This was never really in doubt, but with the win over the Broncos, Kansas City has officially clinched a playoff berth. This makes it six straight seasons in which the Chiefs have made it to the playoffs and it’s their seventh appearance in the last eight years.

I remember before Andy Reid came to town, I was content with the Chiefs just being in playoff contention in the final few weeks of the season. Now I expect them to not only make the playoffs but to be one of the top seeds in said playoffs. My how times have changed.

It was a close and quite honestly an ugly win for the Kansas City Chiefs, but they’re 11-1 on the season and handed the Broncos their eighth loss of the season. Better luck next time, Denver.
