Kansas City Chiefs: Five things we learned in Week 13 win vs Broncos
What did we learn about the Kansas City Chiefs in their 22-16 win over the Denver Broncos?
Not every win is going to be a pretty one and that’s becoming a trend for the Kansas City Chiefs, who have won their last four games by six points or less. This was one of those games where it really did feel like the Chiefs were just… off. From overthrown balls to dropped passes to a touchdown that wasn’t even to the terrible officiating, this game was a lot closer than it needed to be.
Regardless, the Chiefs won it and moved to 11-1 on the year while also making it 11 straight wins over the Broncos. Even when the Broncos dominated the Chiefs from 2012-2015, it was only seven games in a row, so I can’t imagine how frustrating this is for Bronco fans.
Anyway, with another game in the books, let’s take a look at what we learned about the defending champs after their 22-16 victory.
This team can win in so many different ways
As I mentioned not long ago, there was a lot that didn’t go Kansas City’s way. For some teams, that’s too much for them to handle and they go on to lose the ball game. Fortunately, the Chiefs aren’t one of those teams that are easily frazzled, as they made the best out of a bad situation.
The Chiefs not only made plays through the air like they always do, but the run game went for over 100 yards as well. The defense played well enough to make this a competitive game despite the offense not pulling their weight in the first half.
Despite everything thrown at Kansas City in this one, they still pulled out a victory. They might not have had all of the flashy plays they sometimes need to win, but at the end of the night, all that matters is they did enough to win. They know they can win games no matter what’s thrown at them and that’ll be huge come the playoffs, as this team knows.
