Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy remains a name to watch when it comes to NFL and college football head coach vacancies. Would Bieniemy be a fit in Detroit?

Eric Bieniemy, who’s been the Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator since 2018 but who’s been with the organization since 2013, has orchestrated an excellent offense attack these past three seasons, all coinciding with Patrick Mahomes being the starter at quarterback.

Up in Michigan, though, the Detroit Lions continue to royally botch things. Bob Quinn, the team’s former general manager who was fired at the same time as Patricia, fired the head coach he’d inherited, Jim Caldwell, after consecutive 9-7 seasons. When the Lions missed the playoffs in 2017, he seized the moment to fire Caldwell and bring in Patricia, with whom he’d worked with the New England Patriots.

Under the defensive-minded Patricia, the Lions went 13-29-1.

Now, the organization is once again looking for a new GM and a new head coach.

Bienemy’s offense is once again a top unit.

Could this be a match?
