2. Patrick Mahomes

What? How is Patrick Mahomes not No. 1? If you watched the game, you’ll know the answer to that question. If you didn’t, then hang tight! We’re getting to that.

Mahomes once again showed why he’s the best quarterback in the league and why he’ll be the MVP winner when this season is all said and done. He went 37-of-49 for 462 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 28 yards (one of those rushes was for a crucial first down late in the game).

It’s obviously awesome enough that Mahomes is so prolific with throwing the football, but it’s also worth mentioning just how smart he is. Late in the game when the Chiefs were trying to bleed the clock, Mahomes took off with the football. After he got the much-needed first down, rather than running out of bounds, which would have stopped the clock, Mahomes slid in bounds. Not everyone has that kind of football IQ and it’s so great to have a quarterback who thinks about stuff like that in the moment.

Mahomes’ numbers were off the charts, so who managed to beat him out for the No. 1 spot this week? Let’s take a looky-loo.
