KC Chiefs: What we learned about the AFC West after Week 10
We still learned a lot about the AFC West despite the KC Chiefs not playing in Week 10.
The AFC West race isn’t over yet! While the Chiefs are still the favorites by a long shot, the Raiders have shown that they’re not going anywhere. Next weekend’s match-up will be what determines if the Raiders are legitimate threats to steal the division from KC or if the Chiefs will earn their fifth straight AFC West title.
I was most intrigued by the Chargers/Dolphins game this week. Not because the Chargers scare me or anything, but because it pitted the No. 5 overall pick and No. 6 overall pick against each other. The Dolphins are a fun team to watch, so that game was one I got excited to see any time it popped up on NFL Red Zone.
AFC WEST STANDINGS
- Kansas City Chiefs (8-1)
- Las Vegas Raiders (6-3)
- Denver Broncos (3-6)
- Los Angeles Chargers (2-7)
Week 11 Games
- Jets at Chargers – Sunday (3:05 CST)
- Dolphins at Broncos – Sunday (3:05 CST)
- Chiefs at Raiders – Sunday (7:20 CST)
Obviously I’m most looking forward to that Chiefs/Raiders game. If the Raiders win that game, not only will they have swept the Chiefs for the first time since 2012, but they’ll also be just one game back of them in the AFC West. The Chiefs should be more motivated for this game than any other they’ve played in this year, as the Raiders honestly embarrassed them back in Week 5.
The other two games aren’t very appealing. The Dolphins should handle the Broncos pretty easily while the Chargers should be able to steam roll the Jets. Both Denver and Los Angeles are out of the division race, so their games aren’t going to be very interesting moving forward.
