We’re at the halfway point of the 2020 NFL season. Time to hand out some grades for the Kansas City Chiefs!

It is hard to believe that we are just a little bit past the halfway mark, and have now arrived at the Kansas City Chiefs bye week. From this point forward, the Chiefs will face pretty stiff competition in their second half slate of games that consists of games against the Bucs, Dolphins, and Saints.

Before we get to those games, let’s take one last look at the first nine games of the season and hand out some grades for the Chiefs. I will be focusing mainly on offense, defense, special teams and coaching, using a traditional grading scale.

So, without further delay, let us check out the grades for the Chiefs.

OFFENSE . A-. . .

With the addition of rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helair, the Chiefs have been leaning much more heavily on the running game and have been finding success with it, which of course sets Patrick Mahomes up to do what he does best and that is sling the ball around. This has made for a very well balanced Chiefs attack that is near impossible to stop.

The Chiefs offense is ranked No. 2 in points scored and No. 4 in yards, proving that with the well-balanced attack I have mentioned above, this Chiefs offense has possibly become even more prolific than its Super Bowl run last season. Not only that, but an offensive line that has delt with COVID-19 issues and injuries all throughout the first nine weeks has performed very admirably and definitely deserve a mention here.

All that being said, no offense is perfect. The Chiefs’ typically explosive offense has stalled in some games and mistakes have been made. During the Chargers game, many passes were either dropped or over thrown/under thrown and drives were stalled because of this. Also, it is fair to say that the Chiefs’ only loss at the hands of the Raiders came about due to mistakes made by Mahomes and the offense and the rare incompletion of one of the Chiefs many comebacks.

All that being said, the Chiefs offense through the first nine weeks has looked near unstoppable at most times and passes with high marks.
