Who should Kansas City Chiefs be keeping an eye on when the Panthers come to Arrowhead Stadium?

The Kansas City Chiefs have one more game before their bye week and it’ll come against the 3-5 Carolina Panthers. This game should be one that the Chiefs win handily, but the Panthers are a sneaky team, having been competitive in all but one game so far this season.

With the Panthers coming to town for a Week 9 match-up, who should Chiefs Kingdom be keeping an eye on in this game?

TERSHAWN WHARTON

Without a doubt, one of the biggest surprises this season for the Chiefs has been undrafted rookie Tershawn Wharton. The Chiefs were able to sign Wharton as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri S&T and they definitely haven’t regretted it.

So far, Wharton has played in all eight games and recorded 19 tackles (three for loss), one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. He’s been a solid addition to the Chiefs defense and it’d be nice to see him have another good game on Sunday, as Frank Clark is banged up and might not play.

The pass rush has been inconsistent this season, but Wharton notched his first career sack last week against the Jets, so Chiefs fans know he’s capable of getting after the quarterback. If he could get pressure on Teddy Bridgewater this weekend, that could very well be the difference in this match-up.
