The KC Chiefs increased their lead in the AFC West with their Week 8 victory.

It wasn’t surprising to see the Chiefs demolish the Jets because, well – Have you watched the Jets play? They’re not very good. Of course the Chiefs were going to win by double digits against that team.

The match-up I was looking forward the most to watching this week was the Raiders/Browns game simply because they both desperately needed a win to stay in the Wild Card hunt. Neither team has a realistic shot of winning their respective divisions, but a win would definitely keep their Wild Card hopes alive. Also, both of those teams are still trying to turn the corner and prove they’re playoff contenders after years of disappointment.

AFC WEST STANDINGS

  1. Kansas City Chiefs (7-1)
  2. Las Vegas Raiders (4-3)
  3. Denver Broncos (3-4)
  4. Los Angeles Chargers (2-5)

Week 9 Games

  • Chiefs vs Panthers – Sunday (12:00 CST)
  • Broncos at Falcons – Sunday (12:00 CST)
  • Raiders at Chargers – Sunday (3:05 CST)

The Chiefs/Panthers game is interesting simply because of how Carolina has been at times this season. The Broncos should be able to handle the Falcons, but Atlanta has talent offensively and could challenge that Denver defense. The Raiders and Chargers game is a battle between two AFC West teams who have recently relocated and for the Chargers, they have to win this one or their season is certainly over.
