OFFENSIVE LINE

Okay, so this isn’t a player, but is anyone shocked to see the offensive line of the Kansas City Chiefs listed here? They’ve been so up and down all season long and while injuries have played a big part of that, we saw the unit play pretty dang well in Buffalo just two weeks ago.

It’s hard to keep track of who is starting along the line right now because of all of the injuries and shifting things around. Austin Reiter was benched in favor of Daniel Kilgore while Mitchell Schwartz has been banged up and that’s led to Mike Remmers filling in at right tackle.

Nick Allegretti and Andrew Wylie have also stepped in to help stop the bleeding, so Eric Fisher is the only starting lineman from last year’s Super Bowl team currently taking offensive snaps. That right there should explain why this unit has been so up and down, but hopefully they’ll be able to hold their own against the Jets.

HARRISON BUTKER

Until Harrison Butker can get through a game without missing an extra point, I’m going to continue listing him here. Butker is an insanely talented kicker – one of the best in the league actually – but for whatever reason, he can’t seem to perfect the art of the extra point.

Last week’s blowout win over the Broncos marked the fifth game this season where Butker missed an extra point. It obviously hasn’t been a huge deal to this point (he made all three of them in the loss to Las Vegas), but eventually it could be costly down the road.

There hopefully won’t be any pressure on the Chiefs in this game, so it’s the perfect time for Butker to gain his confidence back when it comes to kicking the extra point. He’s been just fine in field goal attempts, but for some reason, the extra point is something Butker has struggled with this season.
