The Kansas City Chiefs host the winless Jets on Sunday. Here’s what to watch for.

The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will be a popular pick in survivor pools this weekend, as many are employing the “Pick against the Jets” strategy that to this point has been foolproof. The Chiefs and Jets are in completely different stages right now, but that doesn’t mean the Chiefs should fall asleep at the wheel in this game like they have a few other times this season.

Here’s what Chiefs Kingdom should be watching for when the team takes center stage against the 0-7 New York Jets on Sunday afternoon.

Offensive Line Performance

It truly has been a tale of two seasons for the Chiefs offensive line through the first seven games of the season. One week they look good, the next they look lackluster at best. Injuries have been responsible for why the offensive line hasn’t played well, but even with those injuries, we’ve seen good performances out of this group.

Against the Bills, the Chiefs had Nick Allegretti, Daniel Kilgore, and Mike Remmers along the o-line and the unit played great! This past week against Denver was a different story, as Patrick Mahomes was sacked three times.

The Jets aren’t a good team and currently rank in the bottom 10 as far as sacks go. If the Chiefs offensive line struggles to protect Mahomes this week, that will be an even stronger indicator that the team needs to trade for an offensive linemen before Tuesday.
