Does Madden think the Kansas City Chiefs will come out victorious against the Jets?

This week pits the 6-1 Kansas City Chiefs against the 0-7 New York Jets in what many are expecting to be a blowout at Arrowhead, favoring the Chiefs of course. They’re big time favorites over the winless Jets and while there’s a reason teams play the games each week, the Chiefs shouldn’t have many problems with the Jets on Sunday.

Before we dive into this week’s Madden simulation, let’s check out how the video game did predicting the Chiefs vs Broncos match-up. Madden thought it’d be a competitive game through the first three quarters, but that Kansas City would pull away late and win by double digits.

The Chiefs did indeed win by double digits, but it was a blowout by half time. The Broncos couldn’t get out of their own way in their 43-16 loss to the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs.

Now, let’s see what Madden predicts will happen this week as the Chiefs host the Jets.

Final Score: Chiefs 26, Jets 9

CHIEFS STATS

  • Patrick Mahomes – 21 of 30, 206 yards, 2 TD
  • Le’Veon Bell – 13 carries, 73 yards
  • Clyde Edwards-Helaire – 19 carries, 65 yards
  • Travis Kelce – 7 rec, 71 yards
  • Tyreek Hill – 4 rec, 56 yards, TD
  • Mecole Hardman – 5 rec, 31 yards, TD
  • Juan Thornhill – INT

JETS STATS

  • Sam Darnold – 21 of 28, 195 yards, TD, INT
  • Frank Gore – 15 carries, 56 yards
  • Denzel Mims – 10 rec, 86 yards
  • Jamison Crowder – 3 rec, 46 yards, TD
  • Chris Herndon – 5 rec, 41 yards
  • Patrick Onwuasor – 11 tackles
  • Quinnen Williams – Sack

The Kansas City Chiefs get out to a commanding 20-0 lead at half time and while that’s a great start, they only add six points in the second half. Mahomes has two touchdown passes, but again doesn’t put up a ton of yards through the air. The two running backs both have a good day, however, and that certainly helps take the pressure off of Mahomes.

The Jets don’t put up much of a fight in this one, but they do add a touchdown late in the game after only being able to muster up a field goal in the first three quarters. Chiefs fans would be satisfied with this score because it’s a win, but there’s no reason to think the Chiefs can’t win by more.

At the end of the day, however, all that really matters is that the team wins and everyone stays healthy. Hopefully Madden is correct in that the Chiefs will win and move to 7-1 on the year while dropping the Jets to 0-8.
