The Kansas City Chiefs have competition for the No. 1 seed in the playoffs and a lot will be determined in the Steelers/Titans game.

There is another Week 7 game to pay close attention to before the Kansas City Chiefs kickoff against the Denver Broncos at 3:25 p.m. The Tennesee Titans host the Pittsburgh Steelers in what will be a great battle as part of the noon slate of games.

The Titans and Steelers are the final two undefeated teams, so whoever wins this game is in the top spot in the AFC. While it might be difficult for Chiefs fans to root for the Steelers because of how they’ve squashed the hopes and dreams of Chiefs Kingdom in recent years (Tennessee has too, by the way), hear me out.

When looking at the two teams, the Steelers are in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL. They have to play Baltimore two more times as well as Cleveland one more time (who yes, they stomped on, but the Browns could pull something out down the line). That means the Steelers are going to have a tougher go of it down the stretch than that of Tennessee.

The Titans play in the weak AFC South and that should be an easy division for them to win. The Jaguars and Texans have two combined wins and we’ve seen that the Colts are mostly all bark and no bite. It’d be a heck of a lot more beneficial for Kansas City if the Steelers win because of their division.

If Tennessee knocks off the Steelers, they could very well be set up to go 13-3 or even 14-2. Giving Derrick Henry a week off in between Week 17 and the Divisional Round of the playoffs would be something that Chiefs fans especially should want no part of. If there’s any team that knows how lethal Henry can be, it’s the Kansas City Chiefs.

While it’s difficult to root for the Steelers, their path to the No. 1 seed is much tougher than the Titans, even if they secure a victory on Sunday. They have a tough slate in the AFC North while the Titans get the Jaguars, Texans, and Colts the rest of the way.

There’s really one team that scares me the most as far as that No. 1 seed goes and that’s the Titans because of the fact that they haven’t lost yet and have already beaten Buffalo. If they beat Pittsburgh on Sunday, there isn’t much standing in their way from grabbing the only bye in the AFC come playoff time.

I know it’s torture, but Chiefs fans have to pull for Pittsburgh on Sunday.
